March Newsletter – Dive into Easter!
Message from Head Coach
March saw the conclusion of the Surrey County Champs with the County ‘B’ meet the first weekend 4th & 5th. FSC swimmers had many outstanding swims continuing the team’s successes at this year’s County Championships. With the combination of ‘A’ and ‘B’ qualifiers at the County Championships this season, I can truly state that this was the most successful Counties that FSC has enjoyed to date with the most County participants, podium places, personal best times swam and the number of FSC Officials. Congratulations to all of you that participated to help make this season’s County Champs a huge success.
A BIG congratulations to Team FSC swimmers who WON the H&SC Gala!!!! A first for FSC to win the overall Team trophy! In addition the team also won for the 3rd year in a row the 9 year old division a truly remarkable achievement! All FSC swimmers performed at their very best with notable performances by individual High Point award winners Leo Walton 9 year old boys and Hannah O’Mahony 11 year old girls. It was a fantastic evening of swimming with FSC swimmers showing great support for each other and great team comradery. A BIG well done to all!!!
Sunday, 19th FSC swimmers travelled to the K2 pool in Crawley for a very competitive Long Course meet. Many fine performances were turned in by FSC swimmers, with several swimmers achieving South East Regional qualifying times. Well done to you all.
So far, this season has proved to be very successful with more FSC swimmers achieving County qualifying times, Regional qualifying times and Team advancement in our Arena League standings. This is a tribute to all of the hard work our swimmers are putting in, the effort of our coaching staff and the support of FSC parents. Keep up the hard work and commitment in continuing to make FSC the very best it can be.
Message From Chairman
It is again with great pleasure that I watch our younger swimmers' practice, such great improvement! Traditionally, April and May are months were we see major activity in the younger squads. With the Haslemere, Cranleigh meets and our Club Sprints coming, it's a great opportunity for our younger swimmers to prepare, some to compete for the first time, others to gain more experience. Please reach out to the coaches or a member of the committee if you have any questions regarding these upcoming competitions. Looking forward to these meets, always exciting to see our younger swimmers compete!

Sunday Desk Helpers
Can you spare a couple of hours every few weeks to help on our Sunday Desk? If so, please contact Carrie. Ideally you would be asked to be available from 4.45pm-6.30pm or perhaps even for the first hour or last hour, full training given!
Welfare Issues - Welfare
If for any reason swimmers need to leave a training session earlier than the scheduled finish time can the responsible adult please approach the coach to advise them of this rather than just leaving without letting anyone know. The coaches have a duty of care to our swimmers and therefore understandably need to know where each swimmer is during training (if not in the pool).
Top moan - It
has been brought to our attention by the Sports Centre staff that a
number of swimmers/centre users not being able to find a changing
cubicle. We cannot reserve changing cubicles!
Please do not leave your bags and items in a change cubicle whilst training, each pool has lockers available and should you be using a locker please make sure you lock your clothes and valuables away as it has been noticed that belongings are being putin lockers without being locked, you do this at your own risk. We cannot reserve changing cubicles.
