County Success for Farnham

Message from Head Coach

WOW! FSC really enjoyed a fantastic month of racing! Almost every weekend of the month was
spent poolside at the Surrey County Championships and FSC swimmers rocked! Many swimmers
from the ‘A’ Division Champs received podium honours as well as FSC ‘B’ Division swimmers.
Jennifer Holland led the way with, not one but two County Champion first place finishes in the girls
open 50m and 100m Breaststroke events. Other notable podium finishers for FSC were Ella Rose
Walton receiving runner up awards in the 13 year old girl’s age group in the 200m, 400m and 800m
Freestyle events. Other FSC top three podium swimmers included Amy Strode, Jordan Hammond
and Alessandro Harker. FSC swimmers finishing in the top eight ribbon positions were Georgia
Strode, Ella Cheeseman, Ethan Binding, Andrew Stanley, Tamara Clover, Jasper Coggins, Ross Porter,
Katie Stanley, Kit Humphrey and Molly Webster.

FSC ‘B’ Division swimmers were led by Elliot Morpuss who placed first in the 15 years boys 100m
Backstroke, Ella Cheeseman first place 12 years girl’s 400m IM, Daniel Pearce 2nd place boys 10 years
200m Freestyle. Other notable FSC ‘B’ Division finalists were, Alex Riddell, Ross Porter and Katie
Stanley.

A Fantastic County Championships to date, with just one weekend of ‘B’ Division racing to go
at the Guildford Spectrum.

Congratulations to all FSC swimmers who participated and Good Luck to all of you competing this
weekend.

Message From Chairman

Over the past three weeks, I had the chance to watch our younger squads, from Minnows to Frogs a bit more and I was really impressed with their progression. I had a chat with a few parents who validated it and I have to say that made me very happy. At the same time, there seems to be great interaction and bonding between the swimmers which always is a first step to great friendships. As I mentioned in our presentation evening, our aim as a Club is to see happy, healthy, hard working swimmers and, in result, happy parents. It all sounds great but I am convinced we can do even better and there is a few things that we will discuss in the Committee and with the coaches this month, to further improve the programme.

Well done all and keep up the good work!

Social Committee

Ideas are welcome regarding social events for the New Year & Spring time as well as anyone wanting to help our social committee.

We have already had some brilliant suggestions and are swaying towards a 'total wipeout' style watersports event.

Sunday Desk Helpers

Can you spare a couple of hours every few weeks to help on our Sunday Desk? If so, please contact Carrie. Ideally you would be asked to be available from 4.45pm-7pm or perhaps even for the first hour or last hour, full training given!

Welfare Issues - Welfare

If for any reason swimmers need to leave a training session earlier than the scheduled finish time can the responsible adult please approach the coach to advise them of this rather than just leaving without letting anyone know. The coaches have a duty of care to our swimmers and therefore understandably need to know where each swimmer is during training (if not in the pool).

Top moan  - It has been brought to our attention by the Sports Centre staff that a number of swimmers/centre users not being able to find a changing cubicle. We cannot reserve changing cubicles!
Please do not leave your bags and items in a change cubicle whilst training, each pool has lockers available and should you be using a locker please make sure you lock your clothes and valuables away as it has been noticed that belongings are being putin lockers without being locked, you do this at your own risk.  We cannot reserve changing cubicles.

Swim Trial Enquiries  - contact Carrie

Membership Enquiries - contact Rachel.

Fundraising - Please use the Easyfundraising link from our website when you shop on-line – there are lots of different companies that will donate money to the Club when you shop.  Also by using the ProSwimwear link on the website you can earn back money for the Club. ?
