Goals should never be easy!

Message from Head Coach

October 2017 competitions are completed and all of those PBs have been recorded in the ASA archives!  FSC has enjoyed a fantastic start to the new season with many swimmers setting high targets by swimming too fast times already and the season has only just begun!

At the beginning of the month swimmers were posting best times in our very own BBS Club Sprints with the overall High Point Winners, for the girls Georgia Strode and for the boys Alessandro Harker.  Well done Georgia and Alessandro!  The competition was very tight with just a few seconds separating many swimmers, well done to all FSC swimmers who took part in the BBS Sprints Gala.

October hosts the first round of the very competitive Arena League Gala, which FSC placed a very respectful 3rd place in the team competition with many of our younger swimmers ‘swimming up an age category, or two’ filling a few holes in the line-up.  FSC were missing a few key swimmers to field our very strongest squad but nevertheless we were able to rise up and race for every point!  Congratulations to all of our FSC swimmers, who participated, bring on Round 2!!

Also this month FSC saw more of our Club Championships, several of the events were very competitive providing some exciting racing between squad mates.    It is another successful year of Club Champs with many of our younger swimmers showing great promise for FSC’s future!  Well done to all who are participating in the Club Champs this year.

Finally the last gala in October was the Hart Open Meet.  FSC swimmers really finished the month off in style with some fantastic swims!  The highlight of the meet was Ethan Binding winning the boys High Point trophy who barely edged teammate Scott Watson who finished runner up.  FSC almost made it a clean sweep with Zoe Falconer finishing runner up in the girls division.  All FSC swimmers who took place in the meet provided highlights of their own with many fine performances and many swimmers coming home with medals!  A BIG FSC well done!

GO FSC!!

Message From Chairman
October has always been quite an exciting month especially for our younger swimmers who start to show the results of their hard work (which as you see above from the head coach's message, results have been really great!). I am also getting great feedback from our Minnows academy programme and our young squad coaches and parents, which is great. Please keep feeding back to the coaches or members of the committee, as this is very important for us to see how we can further improve. Also, as now most of the 1-1 planning sessions with coaches and competitive swimmers have been completed, its good to get some feedback around what works well and what’s is not. Last, but not least, really happy to see our non-competitive squads and Masters team excel in their targets (that being in competitions or just in training) but most importantly having fun and getting some time to enjoy swimming.

As our 125yr! anniversary is approaching fast; look out for comms about our new, limited edition kit! We are all highly excited about this and hope you will like it too!
