Sutton swimmers excel - Long course level 1 open meet
A significant number of the Sutton swimmers competed at the October Long Course Level 1 Open Meet at Harvey Hadden Sports Village.
Many of our swimmers were representing Nova at this meet but 4 proudly wore their Sutton T-Shirts and Swim Caps in the competition.
Those representing Sutton were as follows:
Sarah Holmes (12yrs)
This was Sarah's first Open meet since joining our Club and she set new Personal Best Long Course times in 8 of the 9 events that she entered. she beat her previous best 200 Individual Medley time by 11 seconds. She swam fantastically in all her other races. In this high level of competition Sarah surprised herself by winning a Gold medal in the 50m breaststroke event in a time of 41.19 seconds. Sarah's PBs also secured her some other high place finishes within her age group.
Francis Dermody (12yrs)
Francis set new Personal Best Long Course times in all 4 of the events that he entered. Francis finished 9th in the 50m Free, 59th in the 14yr and under 100m Free, finished an impressive 6th in the 50m Back and 42nd in the 14yr and under 100m Back events. Francis has been in fine form of late notwithstanding bouts of illness and injury that have hampered his training.
Emma Peel (13yrs)
Emma set new Personal Best Long Course times in 4 out of the 5 events that she entered. Emma finished 14th in 200 Backstroke in a new PB 2.47.04, 8th in 50 Backstroke, 6th in 50 Breaststroke in a new PB of 39.98, 39th in the 14yr and under 100 Backstroke in a new PB of 1.18.92 and 8th in 50 Freestyle in a new PB of 30.69.
Tammy Chamberlain (14yrs)
Tammy competed in her favourite events the 50, 100 and 200m Breaststroke races and excelled in all 3. Tammy secured new Long Course PB times in all 3 events. In the 50m race Tammy finished in a great 6th place, in the 100m race finished in 15th place in the 14yr and under category and in the 200m event finished in a really impressive 5th position.

Molly Etherington (11yrs) - 3 PBs at the Nova Open Meet in 400m Free, 200 IM and 200 Back.
Talitha Oud (12yrs) - 5 PBs and won a Silver medal in the 50m Fly and a Bronze medal in the 200 Fly
Ellethea Hawley (13yrs) - 1 PB in the 200 Free
Alice Jones (13yrs) - 3 PBs in 50 Fly, 100 Free and 100 Back
Chloe Quinn (14yrs) - 1 PB and a Gold medal in the 400 Free. Chloe also won a Silver medal in the 50m Free.
Hollie-Mae Dove (14yrs) - Won a Gold medal in 100m Breaststroke and a Bronze medal in 50m Breaststroke.
Ellie Read (15yrs) - 2 PBs in 50 Free and 50 Back
Natalee Meldrum (16yrs) - 1 PB in 200 Free and Bronze medals in 50m Free and 50 Breast
Harrry McKeaney (10yrs) - 5 PBs and won a Silver medal in 50m Butterfly
Evan Hawley (10yrs) - 3 PBs and won a Bronze medal in 50m Breaststroke.
Tom Polley (11yrs) - 3 PBs in 100 Free, 200 Back and 200 Individual Medley. Tom also won a Goldmedal in 50 Fly, a Silver medal in 200 Medley and Bronze medals in 200 Free and 200 Back
Michael Senior (12yrs) - 4 PBs in 100 Free, 50 and 100 Breast and 200 Back. Michael also won a Silver medal in the 50m Breaststroke.
Adam Read (12yrs) - 4 PBs in 100 and 400 Free and 50 and 200 Back.
Callum Peel (13yrs) - 8 PBs. Bronze medal in 50m Breaststroke and a Silver in 200 Breaststroke.
Nick Meldrum (14yrs) - 3 PBs in 50 and 100 Free and 50 Butterfly
Joshua Leeson (15yrs) - 2 PBs in 50 free and 100 Butterfly. Joshua also won a Bronze medal in 200m Individual Medley
