Camden’s recent success stories!

British Para-Swimming World Class programme 2018/2019

Camden is very proud to have both Ellie Simmonds & Leah O’Connell selected to be apart of British Para-swimming’ performance squads for the coming season. The programme will offer various opportunities to gain knowledge & experience, along with supporting both on their quest for success. This is a huge achievement for two shining examples to all of Camden’s swimmers, congratulations ladies!

England Para-Swimming Talent Programme 2018/2019

Leah O’Connell & Charlotte Hyde have also been selected to be apart of the England Para-Swimming Talent Programme, similar to the British Programme this offers an education based approach to the long term process of becoming an elite athlete. Gerry Gillespie has also been selected to be apart of the National Coach Development Programme, where he will have access to some excellent education opportunities to ensure Camden continue to deliver the very best swimming programme possible for it’s Para-Athletes.

London Winter Regionals 2018

Camden was represented by a strong cohort of Performance/Competitive Gold & Silver swimmers at the recent event held at the London Aquatic Centre. This was for many their first competition outing of the season, where all the early season training would be revealed. The competition did not disappoint with Camden coming away with 5 Gold, 5 Silver & 5 Bronze medals along with many new Winter National qualification times & a huge PB tally. We placed 2nd in the top club award behind Ealing – Well done to everyone who competed!

Special mention to Ellie Simmonds on breaking her own WORLD RECORD in the 400 Freestyle in a time of 5:26:74, Ellie has gone from strength to strength since relocating to London & we are proud to support her on the road to Tokyo 2020!

London Region Team head to Ireland in 2019!

On the back of some fantastic results; Jackson Olin, Ally Larson, Lauren Brantley, Anna Podurgiel & Adam Taylor (Coaching Staff) have been selected to represent London at an international competition in Bangor, Ireland in February 2019. Congratulations on this well deserved opportunity. It is awesome to have such a big representation on the London team!

All 3 Performance squads travel the UK!

Performance Bronze travelled to Bournemouth, Silver to Bristol & Gold to Stockport. The commute well worthwhile culminating in some amazing efforts from all 3 squads. PBs & qualifying times galore! The coaches are very proud of how the swimmers represented themselves, the professionalism & team spirit on display was a big step in the right direction. Well done all!

Anna Ntountounaki Travels to the World Short Course Championships in China!

Anna joined Camden in September having had a successful summer, finishing 5th at the European Long Course Championships in Glasgow. Anna arrived in London to study a Masters in Law & will swim with us until the summer of 2019 & possibly beyond. She will represent Greece at the World Short Course Championships in Hangzhou, China, December 11–16. Anna competes in the 50/100/200 Butterfly. Best of luck, your new club will be cheering!

Arena League Round 2

This round, Camden’s A team travelled to Watford & the B team travelled to Borehamwood - both teams coming together putting in brilliant displays. The A team finished 2nd in a close fought battle with rivals Hatfield & Hillingdon, whilst the B team continued to dominate their league in a resounding 1st place. It was brilliant to see so many Camden parents in their supporter t-shirts making noise! We hope to see you turn out for the 3rd round!
