2019 racing off to a flying start in Sheffield

2019 off to an absolutely fantastic start as 11 of Leicester Sharks' Training Performance swimmers headed up the M1 to Sheffield for their first Open Meet of the season!

In the middle of a gruelling winter training programme, our Sharks showed they had real grit and determination to attack and tough out their races, hone their race tactics and see how their technique is holding up as Long Course season begins!

There were some exceptional performances including:

Yasmine Sheffield winning the 14yrs BagCat Points

Luca De Zilva breaking the 20 year old Leicestershire County record for the Junior Boys 50m Backstroke

Leicester Sharks finishing 15th in the Top Club on points with only 11 athletes in attendance

Michaella Glenister winning the 200m I.M. final and 400m Freestyle

All athletes acheived their personal ambitions for this meet and gained some invaluable Long Course experience as we look forward to the rest of this season!
