MORE INFORMATION ABOUT:

Learn to Swim stages 6 and 7

These are the final stages of Swim England’s ‘learn to swim’ framework. Swimmers will learn: how to prepare for exercise; develop efficient techniques for all four strokes; practise surface dives, and work to improve streamlining, breathing, co-ordination and knowledge of water safety. Stage 7 lessons will also build stamina and further improve diving skills.

Development Squad stages 8-10

These stages take squad members forward from fundamentals in swimming to building technique and tactical skills. Much of the training will be low intensity and there is a strong focus on consistency, stamina and perfecting starts and turns. Swimmers will also learn how to warm up, cool down, stretch, relax, and focus. The emphasis is on training but there will be opportunities to compete in galas and meets.  Once strong techniques are in place, swimmers can progress onto our competitive pathway at our other pools.

Club squad

This squad is for young people who would like to swim regularly in coached sessions but do not want to participate in competitive swimming. Sessions are fun and the content varied but the emphasis is on training to improve technique, physical fitness and achieve goals.

Masters Swimming

For adults who enjoy swimming regularly and would like to swim with others in lightly structured sessions. A qualified coach will be on hand to help you improve technique and fitness and provide feedback. The sessions cater for a range of ability and ambition.
