Head Coach – Lisa

I have been involved in swimming since the age of 6 years old – taking part in club swimming lessons. This progressed to becoming a competitive swimmer. Some of my successes in my youth were County and Regional champion/record holder in a range of events. Competing at my first National Age Group Championships at the age of 11yrs and achieving 7th place in the 100m Breaststroke final. At subsequent National Championships I won 2 golds (200m & 400m IM), 3 silver and 6 bronze medals and was in the top 8 on many other occasions. I also achieved a European Youth Qualifying time for the 200m Breaststroke and achieved 3rd place in the 200 IM, 2nd in the 50m freestyle and top 4 fastest in the 100 freestyle at the 1988 Olympic trials. I was also a member of the GB Team.

My coaching philosophy is to inspire and develop swimmers, nurturing their talent. To encourage the swimmers’ to be resilient, self-disciplined, motivated and strive for excellence to fulfil their potential. Above all, for the athletes to enjoy the process, reflect positively on the outcome and to be able to look back at their career with fond memories, valuing their achievements and gaining lifelong friendships and well-being.

It’s a privilege to coach LBHSC swimmers and hope they enjoy being part of the Club. I look forward to celebrating their many successes and achievements with them.
