Learn To Swim with Potters Bar Swimming Club
We welcome anyone interested in learning to swim or wanting to improve their strokes from the age of 5. Our swimming teachers are well qualified and enthusiastic, with a genuine interest for the sport of swimming.
The club is very proud to be SwimMark accredited. This provides evidence that the club and its programs and policies has been scrutinised, and found to be current and up-to-date with all the required regulations and that it will continue to improve.
Our programme of lessons are structured to encourage progression from each level to the next as the swimmer improves.
At the top end of our teaching programme, if your swimmer would like to take part in swimming competitions we encourage swimmers to move into our squad training section.
The first step is to arrange a free trial session. Trials for our “Learn to Swim” scheme take place on the Fridays at 7.15pm at Furzefield. Swimmers must be at least 5 years old.
To request an invitation to a free trial session please contact us
This will send a message to our Teaching Coordinator, where one of us will aim to get back to you within 48 hours.
When requesting a Trial, please tell us
- Your name
- Swimmer's name and date of birth
- Swimming experience to date
- Your primary email address and contact phone number
You will receive a free one-to-one trial with our Learn to Swim Coordinator which will last around 5-10 minutes. The Learn to Swim coordinator will then provide individual feedback and allocate the appropriate level for your child, along with the reasoning behind this.
Your child will then receive a free 30 minutes session in the allocated Learn to Swim group or squad.
Please note that each child is entitled to one free trial session.
After this, more information regarding fees and squad times will be provided if you wish to continue.
