I was born and raised in Poland. My general interests were always about sport and very early I started playing volleyball at the age of 8. My swimming career started late when I joined a local club at the age of 13.
I then stopped swimming for a few years, but was playing basketball for a local club in my hometown. Later, when I went to sports college where I studied PE, I was selected to join their swimming squad. My favourite strokes are freestyle and fly. I managed to represent my college in the National Championships in 1999, which was an Open event, so didn’t manage to win any medals.
When I was at college I knew that I would probably not be able to achieve any great success due to my late entry into swimming and so I decided to pursue a career as a swimming coach instead to help children to achieve their best potential.
I really enjoy working with my squad and especially when I see them winning races and watching their hard work paying off as they improve their PB’s and win medals.
