In the case of a member of our club community tested positive for COVID 19, it is important that parents let us know immediately as well as inform the Nhs Test & Trace team of the dates/times and locations of each session the swimmer attended.
The squad of that particular swimmer being a Bubble, members will be immediately informed and asked to self-isolate for 14 days.
We know that you may find this concerning but we are monitoring the situation as best as we can and are following SwimEngland's guidelines as well as advice given by Nhs Test & Trace to ensure we are doing all that we can to keep our members safe. This email is to inform you of the current situation.
The parents of swimmers who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) will be informed that their child cannot attend training for 14 days.
If your child has not been identified as a close or proximity contact then he/she should continue to attend training as normal if they remain well, and are not presenting with covid-like symptoms; or have not already been asked to self-isolate.
We are continually reviewing our risk assessment of this situation and are committed to keeping all members of our Club as safe as possible.
As a club we decided to classify our bubbles as entire squads, not lanes as we felt the swimmers are in each other’s company at the start and end of the training session, but also throughout.
However the Club cannot dictate nor be held responsible and accountable for parents' actions outside training. Sending children to school is the first example that comes to mind. It is your prorogative to contact your respective schools.
Nhs T&T have told us that it is mandatory to self-isolate if contacted by Nhs T&T. It is recommended to self-isolate for 14 days if you think you have been in contact with someone who tested positive to COVID-19.
It is very important to stay home if unwell, to follow T&T's advice and to let them know, should you have tested positive, of your training dates and locations so that they can contact a maximum of people.
