ELITE SQUAD

Swimmers in this squad are expected to compete regularly in both league galas and open meets throughout the year. Swimmers follow a challenging training cycle and therefore must approach swimming with a professional attitude in terms of discipline and dedication. In return swimmers will be supported in all areas necessary for them to achieve their personal goals.

Swimmer / Coach Ratio not to exceed 30:1

Total training hours available per week – 14 hours water time

The minimum age for all athletes is 14 years old.

Any exceptions will be at the discretion of the Head Coach.

Elite Squad entry requirements

To demonstrate the attitude to training and competing that will lead to elite performance. Including but not limited to:

Close to 100% attendance, including land training/strength and conditioning sessions

Compulsory attendance at Arena League and Championship meets (Kents, Londons, Nationals, British Championships)

To have and maintain an attitude that seeks constant improvement and the pursuit of excellence in this sport

All admittance to Elite Squad is at the Head Coach’s discretion

Fluctuation in work ethic and lack of commitment will mean a swimmer risks losing their place in the squad. 

The above criteria may change without prior notice or justification on the recommendation of the Head Coach.

Competition Requirements
Club Hat (plus spare) – compulsory to wear
Club Polo Shirt – compulsory to wear
Goggles (plus spare)
Club Tracksuit – Optional 

All swimmers who gain County or Regional qualification, and those that are chosen to represent the club at a gala, MUST endeavour to make themselves available for these competitions. The Head Coach will not guarantee the Squad place of a swimmer who consistently does not participate in open meets and/or club galas.  Swimmers are expected to attend the recommended number of open meets each season as well as the National Arena Swimming League, Kent Junior League, Kent Relays, Club Championships, County, Regional & National Championships if qualified. All competitions are subject to change. Any swimmer wishing to enter a competition outside of the proposed gala list is required to consult with the Head Coach beforehand.
