Code of Conduct - Parents

The BPSC code of conduct complies with the codes, rules and laws within the guidelines set out by the ASA (available on www.britishswimming.org) and by the Club.

You are responsible for your child when they are not on poolside and for ensuring their safety and behaviour once they leave poolside.

Ensure that your child behaves in a responsible manner at all times including in the showers, changing area and on School/Pool premises. The coaches are responsible only poolside.

Ensure that your child waits to be collected, as appropriate.

For children under the age of 8 years a responsible person must be present at the pool for the entire session.

You are responsible for the belongings of your child.

Ensure that the Club has up to date contact (including emergency contact) email & numbers for you.

Support your child’s involvement, progress and help them to enjoy their sport.

Show appreciation of good swimming by all swimmers from all clubs.

Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.

Respect decisions made by coaches and officials and encourage swimmers to do the same.

Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.

Use correct and proper language at all times.
