Bram Montgomery - Head Coach and Lead Coach for National Development Squad
After graduating from Brown University with a BA in Child Development and Education and as a varsity team captain and school record holder, Bram has since been coaching full time for 16 years, most recently spending the last 8 years as Head Coach of Chelsea and Westminster SC. While at CWSC he developed numerous County, Regional and National Champions while also placing two swimmers on the GB team at Junior and Senior Level. Bram was named London Region Junior Coach of the year in 2014 and Senior Coach of the Year 2015.
Joanna Basista - Lead Coach for Regional Development Squad
Joanna Basista graduated from Physical Education University in Warsaw Poland with Master's degree in Sports Science. After representing her country at international level competitions, Joanna has been coaching and teaching swimming for 13 years, including the last 6 as one of the lead coaches for Brompton SC.
Claudia Costa - Lead Coach for County Development Squad and Masters
Claudia is originally from Brazil where she was a finalist at the Brazilian Senior National Championship in the 200m Back Backstroke and won medals at Junior National level as well. Claudia started swimming competitively at the age of 12 with the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, one of the biggest swimming teams in Brazil, where she trained 3 hours a day, 5 days a week for over 10 years. As an experienced coach and teacher, Claudia provides a comprehensive teaching programme for all ages and abilities. Claudia strives to develop and advance her teaching techniques to deliver a consistently top-notch coaching service.
Ramtin Shahbazi - Lead Coach for Academy Squads
Ramtin graduated in 2014 with a 2.1 (Honours) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Westminster. He decided, however, he would pursue his passion of swimming by starting to teach and subsequently coach with a number of 'Learn to Swim' programmes and swimming clubs across London. In that time he has worked in and out of the water with swimmers of all levels aged 1 to 70. Having been a competitive swimmer himself since a young age at BCSC, he has since carried on and swam at National and European meets representing ULU, Otters and BCSC Masters. Outside of swimming he studies languages, being fluent in Persian and is currently a student of Spanish.
Philip Castano - Assistant Coach
Philip has completed a 2 year Foundation Degree in Sports Therapy, which helped him find his love for exercise, rehabilitation and injury prevention for athletes and lead him to his current study of Osteopathic Medicine. Philip swam with Brompton for 8 years and reached County and Regional level in Butterfly and Breaststroke between the years of 2007-2015. Philip has been coaching and swimming at Fulham Pools for nearly 4 years.
Richard Collins - Assistant Coach
Having joined the in Royal Navy 18 years ago, Richard qualified as a Physical Training Instructor in 2003. He has coached at Portsmouth Northsea and Stirling Swimming and was part of the coaching staff in the Navy which successfully won 12 consecutive Inter Service Championships between 2003 & 2015. Richard currently holds the position of Scottish Swimming Open Water Team Manager, and still swims open water competitively in Scotland.
Krisztina Szemjonov - Assistant Coach
During her education at the University of Szeged (BA of Philosophy and Sports Recreation and Health Improvement Manager), she completed a professional sports coach certificate with a specialisation in competitive swimming at the University of Physical Education (Hungary). Krisztina was most recently the lead coach of the National Performance squad at Kingston Royals Swimming Club where their main goal was to qualify for regionals or nationals. Along with her current coaching and teaching work, she is completing her MSc in Human Nutrition at St Mary's University.
