London Regional Championships

The London Region Championships are the second tier on the Swim England pathway for swimmers. These championships are generally broken into:

  • the London Regional Age Group Championships which take place over two weekends in May.  These Championships are open to qualifying swimmers aged between 12-14 as well as any 11 year olds who achieve 12 year old qualifying times; and

  • the London Regional Youth Championships which take place at the end of April.  These Championships are open to qualifying swimmers aged 15 and above.

Unlike the Surrey County Championships, coaches will advise swimmers to target their key events rather than enter into a full programme.  The London Regional Championships form one of the main national qualifying meets and is the one meet where relay teams can qualify for Nationals.  The Club aims to enter teams in each relay event and, therefore, if selected, swimmers are expected to make themselves available to swim.
