Competitive Squad Expectations
Camden Swiss Cottage Swim Club competitive squads swim across four locations within North West London. Depending on the squad to which a swimmer qualifies they will be required to participate in 2 to 8 sessions per week. As these are competitive swim squads, a swimmer is expected to compete regularly in competitions as directed by the coach. Due to an overwhelming demand we are not currently accepting swimmers 12 years and over unless they are already involved in competitive swimming through a British or International club.
Trying out for the squads
In order to participate in a trial, a swimmer must be competent across all 4 strokes (front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly). Disability swimmers should be able to confidently swim a minimum distance of 25m unaided in deep water.
Trial Days and Times
Trials are held on the first Tuesday and first Friday of each month. You must complete the swim trial form in order to book a trial. If you are already a competitive swimmer it would be useful to know your personal best times so please leave these in the comments section of the form. Swimmers arriving on the day without official confirmation will not be accepted. Please be aware that requests for trials are high and you may not be invited to the next scheduled trial if it is oversubscribed.
All trials take place at the Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre, Adelaide Rd London NW3 3NF.
Swimmers aged 7 to 11 years(In particular we are targeting swimmers aged 7-9 years old) 1st Tuesday of the month 5.30pm
