Whether you want to refine your stroke, develop the skills you need to race, or just want to keep fit, have fun and make friends then we have new course that is right for you….


Beckenham Swimming Club is pleased to announce our two new 8-week swim courses.


Where?            Trinity School,

When?             Monday evenings starting - new date TBC

                        Group 1 (Red squad) :  18:30-19:15hrs

                        Group 2 (Yellow squad) : 19:15-20:00hrs


Who is it for?

This course is open to anyone from the age of 7yrs -16yrs  and recommended for swimmers swimming at an equivalent of the ‘Learn to Swim’ Stage 8 upwards.  Swimmers will be grouped according to ability.

You must be able to confidently swim frontcrawl, backstroke and breaststroke in a deep 25m pool.  Let us know about your swimming ability and your age, and we’ll find the right session for you.


Course Content

Over the 8 week course, swimmers will develop their skills in the following areas:

  • Freestyle stroke technique
  • Breaststroke stroke technique
  • Backstroke stroke technique
  • Butterfly stroke technique
  • Racing dives, including diving from a racing block
  • Racing turns, including tumble turns
  • Training drills
  • Lane etiquette and swimming in a ‘squad’
  • Racing

NB. Attendance on this course does not automatically require, or entitle you to join the club thereafter.  Once completing the course, swimmers may wish to attend a trial night to enter one of the competitive squad or may be invited to join a specific squad, at the discretion of the coaches.



The cost of the 8-week course (45min lessons) is £70.

This includes category 1 ASA membership.
