City of Bristol Aquatics holds the following SwimMark accreditations:
- A single SwimMark Essential accreditation for the entire club
- SwimMark Network for Performance Swimming
- SwimMark Performance for Water Polo
- SwimMark Performance for Synchronised Swimming
SwimMark sets down standards in a wide range of areas which clubs must demonstrate compliance with before receiving the accreditation mark. The high standards required under SwimMark are designed to help clubs grow their membership, develop skills among volunteers, improve health & safety and ensure their activity is sustainable in terms of a club’s objectives.
Importantly, it is also designed to ensure the best coaching standards and to encourage swimmers to achieve their highest performance potential, thus increasing the success of swimming as a sport across the UK. All SwimMark accredited clubs are automatically awarded Sport England’s Clubmark accreditation, which recognises high quality sporting organisations.
The Clubmark shows that a club provides an environment that ensures the welfare of members and encourages everyone to enjoy sport and stay involved throughout their lives.
A Clubmark accredited club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages as well as helping parents and carers know that they’re choosing the right club for their young people.
The numerous documents, procedures and policies which form the basis of SwimMark can be viewed by contacting the club’s SwimMark Co-ordinator Mike Riggall at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Network Development Plan can be found on this web site in the Club Documents section.
