Record Rules  (but please see updated rules for new records)

A club record may be broken:

  • At any licensed meet, level 4 upwards

  • At any unlicensed meet, such as Junior League, Arena League, schools galas, as long as it is run by qualified officials, including timekeepers

  • At internal club trials for competition purposes e.g. Splash Galas or timed trials for 8 year olds and under only

  • Leading leg of relays at meets that fulfil one of the above requirements

A club record may not be broken:

  • At internal time trials except as specified above

  • Any external meet, such as schools galas, that doesn’t use qualified officials (this applies to most schools galas)

  • No Lead Relay Legs

  • Split times from longer distance events

  • Converted times from short course to long course or vice versa
