Reading Swimming Club has an Executive Committee which oversees the strategic direction of the club and meets six times a year. The Executive Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting every year at the AGM by the members of RSC. There are a number of members of the Executive Committee who manage the organisation and running of the Club. These are the Chairman and his Deputy, Secretary, Membership Secretary, Treasurer, Welfare Officer, Liaison Officer, Home Meets Manager, Away Meets Manager, Medical Officer, Swim 21 Coordinator, Voluntary Coordinator, Trophies Officer, Website Administrator, Fundraising Officer, Masters Secretary, Waterpolo Secretary and Teaching Programme Administrator (current members of the Executive Committee).
This committee handles the day-to-day running of the club and consists of at least the Chairman, the Vice Chair, the Hon Secretary, the Honorary Treasurer and 3 other members, appointed by the Executive Committee, from amongst its members, at its first meeting after the Annual General Meeting.
Management Committee for 2016 - 2017 consists of Chairman, Vice Chair, Hon Secretary, Hon Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Home Meets Officer, Away Meets Officer and Liaison Officer.
The Coaching Team consists of an enthusiastic team of coaches. The team is lead by Head Coach Lee Mallinson who also coaches T1/Performance squad. Cat Holmes is Assistant Head Coach who also coaches the Development 2 squad. Gordon Dart is lead coach for T2 squad. Marilyn Flook is lead coach for Age squad and also lead coach for Club Squad and Masters. Morgan Nash is lead coach for Development 1 squad. Jess Brooks is lead coach for Development 3 and 4 squad.
Learn to Swim Coordination
The Learn to Swim Programme has a committee that oversees its activities. Its members are, Lee Mallinson (Head Coach), Hazel Syrad (Coordinator) and the senior lead Teachers.
Our Senior Club Captains for the 2017/18 season are Jack Endersby and Lara Richmond.
Presidents and Life Members
The President of the Club, whose role is to represent the Club and who must be a member of the Club, shall be elected at a General Meeting of the Club, on the recommendation of the Executive Committee, and shall hold office until death or resignation unless removed by a resolution passed at a General Meeting. Vice-Presidents shall hold office until death or resignation unless removed by a resolution passed at a General Meeting.
The Executive Committee may elect any person as an honorary member of the Club for such period as it thinks fit, or as a honorary life member, and they shall be entitled to all the privileges of membership except that they shall not be entitled to vote at meetings and serve as Officers or on the Committee unless any such person shall have retained, in addition, their ordinary membership of the Club. Such honorary members must be included in the Club’s annual return as to membership.
