Masters Membership

Forms

Please complete the attached simple membership application form and either email to the membership secretary treasurer@maidenheadmarlins.com or bring to poolside.

Note that trials for new members take place on Friday night and Sunday mornings.

Costs and Fee Structure

There is a joining fee of £30 (by cheque made payable to MASC). Part of this covers the first year's ASA membership (either £10.40 for cat. 1 or £28.20 for cat. 2) which is handed over to the ASA (see www.swimming.org/asa/clubs-and-members/categories-of-membership). Going forward ASA fees will be included in the membership. This also covers insurance.

Payment is by standing order on a quarterly basis, on or before the 1st day of each quarter (January, April, July, October) - current fee is £165 per quarter. Bank details are as follows:

Account name: MASC

Account number: 67096476

Reference: [Swimmer’s name]

Sort code: 601335

An additional charge of £10 will be applied to all payments not received within 10 days of the due date and any swimmer whose account remains unsettled after this period will be suspended from swimming.

Please note that an administration charge of £10 charge per quarter will be applied for cheque payments.

Fees are payable in advance and no refunds will be given if a swimmer decides to leave after payment has been made.

There are no annual membership costs.

You may start training with us straight away, though you do need to complete the membership form and a category 2 ASA form ASAP (forms are available from asa-coordinator@maidenheadmarlins.com.

Swimming

Tuesday (club night) has up to 5 swimmers in the busy lanes.

Thursday evening has 2 to 3 swimmers per lane.

Friday nights there are approximately 1 or 2 swimmers per lane.

On all mornings masters have 4 lanes, as we share the pool with the junior squads.

Of these Sunday morning is the quietest.

Maidenhead egroup and Facebook set up

We have set up an egroup, which any swimming club member may join.

Simply, it means that if you join this egroup, any email you send to it will be forwarded to everyone else in the group.

So you only need to send one email to contact everybody.

You may subscribe or unsubscribe as you see fit.

There should be a minimum level of etiquette, not everyone wants to receive daily jokes, chain mail, or a trivial piece of gossip.....

Keep the emails pertinent to club/swimming matters such as competitions, changes to training times and social events.

To subscribe send an email to maidenhead_masters-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

When it is approved (normally the same day) you will receive a joining email which you should keep.

You will then get any emails that you or others send to the egroup, to maidenhead_masters@yahoogroups..com

To see previous messages, you'll need to go sign on to yahoo (by opening a yahoo email account).

We have Facebook page entitled Maidenhead Masters (www.facebook.com/groups/201487493279664). It has extra info, and some swim videos
