Introducing Brett Davison – WSC recommended Physio

Woking Swimming Club is delighted to introduce Brett Davison as the club’s preferred physiotherapist. Brett has worked with a number of our swimmers over the past few years (see testimonials below) guiding them through injuries and post operation rehabilitation with spectacular recovery times and performance results.
The Club hopes to arrange some educational sessions with Brett at the start of next term to educate the swimmers on stretching and injury prevention.
Brett completed a Life sciences degree from Cape Town University in Biochemistry, Physiology and Anatomical Sciences before embarking on a career in London at Morgan Stanley Investment Bank. Several years later Brett decided a change of career was in order and went off to study at Brighton University graduating in 2002 with a BSc in Physiotherapy.
Brett returned to Cape Town and set up in private practice. At the same time he became the head physio for the South African Rugby Sevens team and toured with them on the IRB World Series. After enjoying various successes with ‘’the Blitz Bokke’’ he moved back over to London to join Wasps Rugby Club. While at Wasps, Brett was asked to take over the England Sevens role and combined the two roles until England Sevens went Full-time and Brett signed up to become their Lead Physio and Head of Physical Performance. 7 Years (and many medals) later he decided to set up The Physio Boutique as well as Sports and Physio Consultancy and joined the IRB (now World Rugby) to help other Nations develop their Rugby Sevens Programs.
Brett has been has worked as a high performance consultant in a number of different disciplines having worked at the last RWC, last two commonwealth games, pan am games in Toronto last year, will be in Rio 2016 and had been working with Woking swimmers for the last 18 months.
Brett also works with several GB age group duathletes, triathletes and several ironmen, elite tennis players and footballers and gymnasts. Brett had also worked on 6 Cirque du Soleil shows in the UK and works with professional dancers up in the London clinic.
He has and still consults with sports from Brasil, Colombia, Israel, Germany, Denmark, Kenya, Georgia, Romania and England advising on sports medicine issues, training and competition planning and program design.
Brett is a sports and musculoskeletal specialist physiotherapist. Having completed courses in Dry Needling, Graston technique, performance matrix, Myofascial release, advanced rehabilitation and nutrition, Brett combines years of experience and a variety of different inputs to ensure the correct diagnosis is made and an individually tailored treatment and rehabilitation program is designed for each client.

National Swimmer since 2012, Multiple National Medallist, Team GB Podium Potential athlete, Junior British record holder, Junior GB European team, Schools national netball, lacrosse, swimming and biathlon, WSC vice-Captain.
‘I first met Brett after a sudden injury to my knee in January 2015. Despite being on crutches and out of the water for six weeks, Brett’s physiotherapy expertise really helped me from day one. His treatment, plan of action and positive advice, meant I was able to get back to swimming and competing.
Brett continues to treat me and helps me maintain a healthy body during training in the pool and gym and also to prepare for competitions. I would highly recommend Brett as an excellent Physiotherapist.’

‘As a swimmer performing at a National level, I work my body hard and recently suffered from from lower back pain with a major competition coming up. I went to see Brett and he got right to the root cause of the pain and had me back in the water fully fit in time for the competition. From dull aches, to acute pain Brett’s always applies corrective measures to compliment getting me back to my sport quickly with little fuss.
I am currently recovering from a minor knee operation and having Brett at the heart of my rehabilitation I have great faith, once again, that he will have me back in the water fighting fit in a safe and measured way.
