Must hold a National entry time for either of the below:-

Swim England Nationals

Swim Scotland Nationals

AIM OF THE SQUAD

To develop swimmers able to compete at the highest levels in both domestic and international competition.

An athlete at this level would be expected to be totally committed to the sport and under the direction of the coach be able to travel and compete as advised.

ENTRY STANDARDS

Swimmers must be committed to attending at least three out of the four sessions in the pool per week and one land training session.

Swimmers must commit to attending competition as directed by their coach.

Minimum training standards required – every swimmer will be assessed for their suitability to join the squad depending on their age and ability level.

Minimum timing standards will be in place for aerobic base work repeats and kick work – a swimmer must be able to achieve these standards to be able to train with the squad.

ENTRY STANDARDS

There will be entry standards for swimming ability so that the squad can train at the correct level and swimmers remain able to move forward and improve.

Swimmers will have to be assessed by a coach to ensure they are able to train at the level required to enter the squad.

However this squad is aimed at swimmers who do not want to be fully competitive in pool swimming but may want to train for Triathlon, fitness and technique.

AIM OF THE SQUAD

To improve all swimmers and encourage them to work to the best of their ability without the pressure of having to attend competition.

Attending competition is still open to swimmers in this squad, however it will be their choice rather than them committing fully to a competitive program.

The swimmers will still have the opportunity to attend land training sessions if they wish and be fully included in all club social events and training camps.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

ENTRY STANDARDS

Swimmers will be assessed by the coach to make sure minimum swimming standards are met on both kick and aerobic base swimming before entry will be granted to this squad

Attendance will be required for at least two out of the three sessions per week.

Gala attendance will be required and expected to be to committed to under the directions of the coach.

AIM OF THE SQUAD

The squad is aimed at young swimmers aged eight to thirteen years old who need to develop the correct technical skills and a strong kick to either enable a pathway into fully or semi competitive swim squads

The coach will assess all applicants for entry into the squad to make sure they have the skills required.

AIM OF THE SQUAD

This is a skill based teaching program which forms the foundation of a pathway for a swimmer to develop the correct skills on all four strokes to enter development level swimming in the club.

There will be two levels running in the squad:-

Training sets for proficient swimmers who want to keep fit and improve technique.

Training for swimmers who can swim but have limited ability and would like to learn stroke and improve fitness levels.

 

AIM OF SQUAD

To encourage the parents of the club and swim school to take part in swimming, to learn new skills and contribute to towards a healthy lifestyle and have a bit of fun at the same time.

The squad will serve as a pathway into both competitive and non competitive squads depending on the swimmers ability level and commitment.
