COVID-19

As we return to the pool after the long shutdown, Croydon Amphibians have been working with our pool providers assessing the risks and introducing processes and protocols to mitigate the risks and keep everyone safe and healthy.

As part of the new processes, we have appointed a Covid-19 Lead Officer (Marianna Turner) and have appointed Covid-19 volunteers to be poolside for every training session to assist in maintaining compliance with the processes and protocols.

For each pool we use there are separate protocols which are linked to below. These protocols are broadly similar, but bespoke to the situation for each pool and based on the discussions and risk assessment conducted for that pool.

Before any swimmer is allowed back to training, they must complete the Health Survey and Return to Training Declaration

If any swimmer experiences symptoms, then they will not attend training for a period of at least 14 days and follow government guidance to self-isolate. Symptoms include:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.

We want to thank all our members for their co-operation with these protocols and guidelines, and for ensuring that we can return to the pool.
