BOBCATS Time Trials

Each term we hold time trials for children in our lengths lessons, this gives everyone the chance to see how fast they can swim and to measure improvement. It’s also a good opportunity for children to test their race skills (dives and turns etc.) and for teachers and coaches to identify swimmers who might be ready to race for BOBCATS in team competitions.

 

What happens at the time trials?

The time trials take place during normal lesson time and include a small warm up followed by a timed swim on each stroke. Swimmers should bring a T-Shirt and an extra towel to keep warm and dry on poolside as there will be some waiting between strokes.

 

Swimmers aged 9 years and under swim 25 metres of each stroke.

 

Swimmers aged 10 years and over swim 50 metres of each stroke, except Butterfly (25 metres).

 

How do I get my child’s results?

Results are posted on BOBCATS noticeboard at Padiham / St Peter’s and at the bottom of this page.
