Swim Development Programme
We run a swim development programme at Court Garden Sports Complex in Marlow. Our teaching staff are all qualified through the Swim England Swimming Teachers programme with a number of our teaching staff members of our competitive swimming section also.

Who Are We?
We are part of Bourne End Junior Swimming Club and a part of the Bourne End Junior Sports Club which provides the opportunity for young people to participate in a wide range of sports. We are a key swimming provider in the area with close to 60 swimmers taught in our swim development programme and over 100 in our competitive swimming section.

Teaching Programme
Our teaching follows the Swim England National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) guidelines and allow our swimmers to attain the skills required to swim front crawl, back stroke and breast stroke in a gradual and progressive manner aiming at preparing the swimmers for introduction into the Competitive Swimming section where they will then continue to improve their strokes whilst introducing competitive skills. Our swim development programme also introduces butterfly but this is mostly taught at the Competitive Club once the swimmers have developed a little more strength in the water.

Entry Standard
As a minimum, we take swimmers who are able to swim 5-10m unaided on their front and 5-10m on their back (ASA Level 2/3). If you are unsure whether your child meets the required standard you can always contact us to discuss your child’s ability or arrange an assessment.

Where We Teach
Our programme runs at the Court Garden Sports Complex in Marlow. We swim in a 15m pool which is well suited to swimmers who are developing their strokes.
