Entries are now open for the Penguins 800m Freestyle level 4 Long Distance Meet. It is being held on Thursday 14th Dec from 6.00pm to 9.00pm at Easton Leisure Centre, Bristol (BS5 0SW). It is an ideal opportunity to challenge swimmers at long distance racing and will allow swimmers to gain ranked times for county championship qualification. Events will be swum as mixed gender seeded heats. It's Round 2 of the Penguins Winter Series on Saturday 11th November. The gala will be held at Easton Leisure Centre (BS5 0SW) and doors open at 6.00pm. The warm up starts at 6.10pm with the gala starting at 6.45pm. Spectators are welcome and the entry fee is £4.50. On Sunday 1st October, Penguins hosted the 2023 Gloucester County Open Water Championships, which were held in conjunction with the Penguins club championships. After the pre-race safety talk and course run through, the mass start set off 18 swimmers from ages 12 up to the Masters, with swimmer competing in age bandings over respective distances. It was fantastic to have swimmers racing from clubs across the whole of Gloucester County and this produced a positive and supportive atmosphere from those cheering on the racing.
