Entries are now live for our fantastic joint sprint meet which we host with Keynsham. On a single Saturday of 25th November, swimmers have the opportunity to race all of the 50m and 100m events (including 100m IM) in the middle 25m competition pool at Hengrove Leisure Centre. Bristol Penguins are hosting an open water swimming festival on behalf of Gloucester County Swimming Association. This is a relatively informal meet, and we encourage participation from less experienced open swimmers and those more familiar with open water races. The races are open to all swimmers who are members of a Gloucester County Swimming Club. On Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June, Harry H competed at the Swim England Junior Para Nationals, which were held at the Allan Higgs Centre, Coventry. Para swimmers from the around the South West including City of Bristol, Team Bath and Gloucester all sat together and supported one another as they raced swimmers from across the country. Five of our swimmers have been invited to the 2023 British and English national summer championships. These championships are the culmination of the swimming season with selection being based on the highest ranked swimmers per age group in Britain or England based on long course performances through the spring qualifying window. The end of May saw the culmination of the Bristol Penguins Primary Schools Gala Series. During the season, ten schools took part from the across the city. This gala series gives primary school swimmers an introduction to competitive swimming with many competing for the very first time.
