Bristol Penguin Olympic Swimming Club

Weekend 1 of Glos County Champs sees Penguins success

David Cousins

The first weekend of the Gloucester County Championships saw 57 Bristol Penguin swimmers compete long course at Hengrove Leisure Centre. The team spirit was excellent and there were plenty of great swims and evaluation of the skills and processes needed to progress. Penguins were represented 59 times in finals, not counting the many great top 3 medallists in events which included the gruelling 400m Individual Medley through to the 100m Breaststroke and the 100m and 200m Butterfly. Overall, Penguins won 4 golds, 12 silvers and 8 bronze medals. Well done team and we look forward to the second weekend of competition at the end of this month. A huge thank you to the parents who volunteered as Team Managers with their calm, positive and supportive manner throughout each session. They were a great support to all of our swimmers.
