Weekend 2 of Gloucester County Champs sees Penguins in multiple Championship Finals

David Cousins

The second weekend of the Gloucester County Championships saw our Penguins team compete in all events ranging from 50m through to 200m breaststroke and from 100m freestyle up to the 800m distance. The team showed great focus in their warm ups and put their attention to detail on swimming skilfully into practice in their heats. Yet again, Penguins were present in nearly every final, with 42 swimmers making Age Group finals. A Further 20 swimmers combined to win 10 golds, 2 silvers and 8 bronze medals. Particular mention also goes to the 4 Penguins swimmers who excelled by making the Championship finals in different breaststroke events. Well done.

A special thank you goes to our brilliant team of volunteers who helped run this weekend’s championships for the county. They contributed significantly to the smooth running of the entire weekend and were a credit to our club. Thank you.
