The CABSC committee and all CABSC members were deeply saddened to hear that Kate Bull recently passed away after a short illness. When I first moved to Nottinghamshire and joined the local swimming club, nearly 30 years ago, Kate was already involved in swimming. Both Kate’s children, Marianne and Andrew, grew up swimming with Bingham SC, and even after both children had stopped swimming Kate carried on helping at the club. Back, before Bingham SC merged with Calverton SC, Kate was already a Nottinghamshire official, along with her husband Denniss....

The CABSC Committee are very delighted to announce that we have appointed a new Head Coach, Mr Mark Moore. Mark is returning to this role at CABSC after retiring from his day job. Some of the longer standing and older members will remember Mark from a few years ago - this was pre Covid, pre James and pre Saffy, when he steered the teams consistently over a few years to some excellent successes in leagues, county, midlands and national competitions. Mark will be able to hit the ground running and...

On Sunday 11th June CABSC Masters hosted our 10th annual Masters gala. This year we swam at the new Bingham Arena pool, and this was the first major gala at our new pool. Despite a few hiccups, such as the electronic scoreboard not working, the whole day was a resounding success. A big thank you to all the officials and volunteers who helped to make the day a success. In addition to being an open Meet, the event doubled up as the Nottinghamshire Masters County Championships. In total 20 CABSC...

The numbers are currently nearly fifty members with a choice of five swimming sessions a week , shared between Bingham and Cotgrave pools. Ages at present range from 21 to almost 70! There are several coaches who have level 2 or above coaching qualifications. The section...

The Committee is very pleased to announce that Saffy Blackwood has been appointed as the new Head Coach of Calverton and Bingham Swimming Club. Saffy is the first head coach that has been 'homegrown', progressing from a club swimmer to now, the highest position on the coaching team. She has already carried out coaching duties with the Swim Team at her University, as well as gaining nationally recognised coaching qualifications. We know she is a very popular member of the club and well-known to almost everyone at CABSC. We hope...

Thank you to Kath who has helped support these activities, to Simon Curzon-Hepworth for recreating the CASBC logo, and to Steve Leica and Mark Shipston for providing photos. If you find any issues with the site, please reach out to and I will resolve them as soon as possible. Many thanks, Declan Curzon-Hepworth.
