Message from the Club Chair

Michael Farrall

Dear all,

We hope that you have all had a wonderful summer holidays, and are now looking forward to returning to the pool for the new swimming season. You will have seen the recent announcement from Saffy that she is stepping down as our Head Coach and will soon be leaving the club. The committee would like to thank Saffy for all her hard work, enthusiasm and success over the last two years, and we wish her well for the future. The club has recently advertised the role through Swim England, and we are currently waiting for applications. We will update you all when we have more news.

Can we also take this opportunity to remind everyone that the club has a Code of Conduct for both swimmers and parents. These are available on our website. If any swimmer has any concerns or issues then please raise it with your squad coach, or if this is not possible, then please contact a member of the club committee. For parents please contact the committee, rather than any individual directly, and the matter can be dealt with quickly. All our coaches, poolside helpers and committee members are volunteers, who always try their best to run the club to the highest levels, but if something is not quite right then please follow the correct channels. If you are not  sure who is on the committee then the main contact details can be found on our website

Finally, we always need poolside helpers. So, if you are a parent that routinely watches your child from the seating area, why not volunteer to come onto poolside and see what you can do to help? This could be for just one session per week. If you find you enjoy this then you may consider taking a coaching qualification, and the club is happy to fund the coaching course, and all we ask in return is an ongoing commitment to coach within the club. Again, if you need more information on any of this then please ask the squad coach, or a committee member and we can provide suitable advise.

Good luck to everyone as we look forward to the new season.

Best Wishes,

Mark Patterson

Chairman, on behalf of the CABSC committee
