Swim day information.
A couple of question have come up so hopefully this will help answer them:
This is primarily targeted at the Senior squads.
It may (but probably not) be opened up to the Junior squads, starting with Sharks.
This will be very dependent on numbers.
However we would be very happy for any one to come along and watch and learn from poolside and that is open to swimmers and parents a like. There will be a number of the club coaches there on the day as well.
Swim Day update
Hello – you should have all got you deposits in now for the swim day, thank you very much.
I will collate the information from FB and receipts book as well.
I will then send out an email from [email protected] . If you want to send an email now to that address that would help as well.
Many Thanks
Robin
20th August – have you seen whats happening?
https://cuparswimming.com/2017/06/23/summer-swim-day-2017-20th-august/
get it booked quick!
Summer Swim Day 2017 – 20th August
Following on from last years very successful Pres-Season Swim Day we are running another one on the 20th August 2017. It will be run much the same as last year and is open to senior squad swimmers in the first place but may be opened up to other swimmers depending on the numbers. This year we are asking for a deposit of £5 to secure a place to swim. We are doing this to avoid cancellations and disappointment of other swimmers who would have been able to come.
So get your deposit in by the last day of swimming before the pool closes which is Friday 7th July.
The junior squads are more than welcome to come along and spectate/learn at the pool sessions if they would like to, so please do if you would like to.
The day will be run by Derek McGowan, Scottish Youth Development Coach.
It will take place at the Sports Centre and start at 10:00am.
Below is the provisional timetable:
Arrive 9:30
Pool 10 – 12
Land, Lunch and Education session from 12 – 2
Pool 2 – 4
Plenary – depart by 4:30pm
We really do urge all the senior squad to grab this opportunity to get a head start on the session ahead and make the most of this opportunity to be one step in front of the crowd.
We need to gauge interest in this to be able to run it logistically so please let us know what you think.
More details to follow.
Thank you.
Important Announcements – Training Fees
The club has 2 important announcements regarding Training Fees: – Cupar Swim Club Summer Closure & Training Fees June 17 (1)
Pool Closure in July:
The swimming pool will be closed from 10th July for 3 Weeks.
The committee has decided that in this extraordinary situation the club will suspend training fees for July. Swimmers (& parents) who do not wish to pay training fees in July should ensure that standing orders, transfers etc do not take place for that month.
Any fees paid for July cannot be refunded – please stop your payment before it happens.
Please ensure your payments restart in August – no training fee = no swimming
Squad Training Fees:
Over the past years changes in squad times have not been followed through with proportionate training fee adjustments. Senior Squad training fees are now being aligned to ensure all squad members pay a standard rate per swim hour. At the same time we have realised that there is scope to pass on savings occurring through the club no longer funding a paid Head Coach.
The new fees are contained in the table below:
The new Training Fees will commence on 1st August – please ensure all August (and ongoing) payments are set up to reflect the table above. Anyone changing squads will be notified by their coach by 10th July
Please note Club Membership and SASA fees are not affected by this announcement
opps did you notice?
I forgot to pay the website bill but we are back now! Did you notice?
There’s is a lot of information on here!

Good Evening – a note to all members and parents:
There is committee meeting Monday evening – 7:30 in the club room (the wee block behind the swimming pool) … last one before schools out for summer !!
It would be great if as many committee members as possible came along and anyone who has a swimmer in any of the squads and can help us out in any way !!
There will be discussion regarding the pool closure in July
Tomorrow (Sunday) is the club champ finals – the weather looks scorchio and the pool air conditioning isn’t the best – I recommend 2 water bottles chilled in the fridge tonight
Thanks

How to follow the Club online
Hi
So there are a number of ways to follow the club online.
The website – www.cuparswimming.com
Twitter – www.twitter.com/cuparswimming
Facebook – search on facebook for “Cupar Swimming”, like the image below. Select the Cupar Swimming at the top and follow. This account is open and automated from the website, that goes to twitter and then facebook. But sometime it doesn’t work 100% of the time. Annoying I know but …. hey it’s free
Hope this helps.
Club Champs – Thursday 8th and 15th
Good Morning
Thursday is a big day as it’s the Club Champs – please be on poolside at 6pm this is scheduled to last until 7:30pm approx.
Note, there will be mixed senior squad training from 7:30(approx) to 9pm after the heats.
The Finals are on Sunday the 18th June.
I don’t think I have forgotten anything else that’s happening on Thursday have I?
See you then.
New Club Records
Updated Club Records have been published here and will go up on the board this evening. There are some that have just come to committee last night and these will be published in due course.

Thanks
Club Champs
Please can you make sure you have got your Club Champ entries in, these will be run on the 8th/15th and 18th June.
Entries for the Club Championships close at the end of this month – please make sure you hand in all entry forms to the club table as soon as you can. Late entries will not be accepted – please get your form in on time.
There is also now a sign up sheet on the club notice board for officials for the club championships. If you can help on any of the dates it would be most appreciated, it is a great opportunity for recently qualified officials to get some practise in an informal environment, and for those with more experience to pass some of that on. Knowing in advance that we have enough helpers and officials is essential for the champs to take place – all help is appreciated.
Please add your name to the list!
Thank you.
Club Captains – Update
Please Note: We will also welcome nominations/volunteers for Vice-captains for both Boys and Girls (free hoodies too). In the event of a tie in the voting process we have now taken this out of the hands of our President and a sub-group of the committee will make the final decision – far too big a call for one person to make Remember names by 30th April please
Club Captains
Club Captains
Just circulated via email to the Senior Squad Contact List.
The Committee would like to welcome applications/ names/volunteers to be Boy Captain & Girl Captain for this year . Any current club (swimming) member aged 15 or over in this calendar year (including those whose 15th birthday falls in this year) are eligible to be considered.
Club Captains will be expected to represent the club when required, set example to their peers and the junior section of the club, and help out with some social or other activities.
Parents – If you would like your child to be considered for one of the Captain positions please email [email protected] with the name of your child – confirming that you would like them to be considered (and that you have actually spoken to your child and they are willing!)
Swimming Members – if you would like to be considered please email your interest to [email protected]
I am sure the incentive of a free hoodie will create strong demand!
Please submit names by 30th April.
From the names submitted, the outcome will be determined by a vote among the senior club members. In the event of a tie the Club President will have the casting vote – hopefully we can drive this to conclusion quickly to avoid any potential voter apathy in June.
Please get in touch via email (or by old fashioned chat with me, Hannah, Gina, Jane or Mark) if you have any questions about the roles
thanks

Sorry swimming tonight Friday 24th is cancelled.
Swim Club Bake Sale – Thursday
A nice and late reminder that the club are having a ‘bring and bake’ sale for Comic Relief tomorrow (Thursday 23rd) in the Cafe at the pool fro 6-9pm All baking donations greatly received!
I remember that last time I had a challenge carrying six cakes to the car without a bag so had to eat three on the way and still got into trouble for leaving crumbs on the seat – so remember a carrier bag as well as your bake!

Membership, Fees & SASA
Thanks to everyone who has joined/renewed over the past few weeks – it has been great to get such positive response & membership lists are being confirmed as the forms are reviewed and payments checked. As always this will take a few days.
As the deadline for membership renewals has now passed we are unable to have anyone swimming who is not both a club and SASA member. This is for insurance purposes (a key benefit of SASA membership), and to be fair to those who have rejoined and are paying for pool-time.
If you wish to leave the club please let me know – that helps us avoid chasing, and if you have not yet renewed membership please do so immediately to avoid the potential embarrassment of swimmers being refused entry to the pool.
Thanks again
