After a long winter of training in wet and cold conditions, the sunshine returned for the seasons opening events. First up was the Oldbury Childrens Triathlon. The day started with a fun run with some current and potentially future members taking part, gratefully supported by older siblings where necessary. The main action commenced with the Youth category and Samuel M taking the first podium spot of the day in 3rd place followed by James S in 7th place. Next up were T3 with three podium places taken by Chapel athletes...

We had a good turnout for our first of 3 planned training sessions at Mountbatten Velodrome. There were the usual nerves for first timers as the banked corners can be daunting at first but after a few laps the smiles come out. For those who have already experienced the thrill of track cycling, it was a chance to work on group riding skills and improving cycling efficiency and maximising the output of those big efforts. The sessions are split into age categories and tailored for everyone to enjoy. Feedback from...

The final race of the South Central Series 2022 was held at Dorney Lake. The race was well represented by Chapel Tri athletes, some of whom were competing for a place in the IRC (Inter Regional Championships), some were competing for podium places within the region and some just for fun and the experience of racing at such an iconic venue. In total 8 Chapel Tri athletes would finish in podium positions within their respective age groups. The final South Central Standings can be found here. For photo slideshow of...

More fine performances from Chapel Tristars today in the Banana Triathlon at Dorney Lake. Not a typical kids triathlon race with no entries for under 11s but quite a few entries in the Banana Split (11-14) category. This meant that T2's had the rare opportunty to race alongside T3's. Another fine performance from Oscar R and Thomas J taking 2nd and 7th place, putting themselves both in contention for IRC selection, come the end of the season. Strong performances from Samuel M, Jasper GE and Sophie L, also. In T2...

It was an early start for some who travelled to Beachborough Tri, held in the grounds of the very impressive Stowe School. The weather was good and the lawns were looking their best which made for some great racing. First up were T3 with Oscar R, Thomas J and Jasper GE finishing 3rd, 4th & 14th respectively. Not to be outdone the T2 girls put in a fine performance with Evie B, Aoife H and Sophie J finshing 1st, 3rd & 6th! Yet another awesome race by Elliot W saw...

The Chapel Aquathlon was the third race in the South Central Series 2022. It was so good to see lots of Chapel Tri athletes putting all their hard work into practice and competing against each other as well as some of the best kids from across the South Central Region and further afield. Overall there were 56 Chapel members competing with 14 taking podium places and 6 age group winners! Some amazing performances across all the age groups and above all else, lots of smiles! Well done everyone. If you...

In 2015, Chapel Tri member, Felix Barrow suffered life threatening injuries when he was involved in a road traffic accident outside his home. He was flown to Southampton General, where he was placed in a medically-induced coma to help him recover from a traumatic brain injury. Since then he has constantly exceeded all expectations in his rehab and continues to push himself forward. Many current club members will have taken part in the Fit for Felix fundraising events over the years and be familiar with his story but some of...
