Oldbury Triathlon was the second race in the South Central Series 2022. Starting with a "snake" swim, then bike & run on grass. It was a sunny day so great for spectators but hard work for the athletes. Well done everyone. Last night we had our first attempt at parent and coach education. We were visited by a local pediatrician who also happens to be a fairly decent triathlete and endurance athlete. We were challenged with hearing about "What to look out for in children as they develop and train" I hope that those who attended, which numbered 25, found Steve's words of wisdom useful. For those who didn't, I will hopefully be able to share it on YouTube in the near future. There seemed to be a consensus that we...

As a means of getting everyone together at the beginning of the training season, rather than a BBQ this year it was decided to have pizza instead. We met on the police training ground after training and were blessed with warm September sunshine and clear blue skies. A huge crowd showed up which is what made the event. I think the pictures say everything else that needs to be said. Thank you Kate R who oversaw the logistics and organisation. Without her it would never have happened.

After a difficult year with lots of cancelled events, it was good to be back racing. The 2021 series would be decided in a one off race at the iconic olympic venue at Eton Dorney. It was a tough race as many of the kids had little race practice in the preceding 18months, but there were some fine performances from Chapel members. Well done everyone! Full Results

Just as we thought we were getting back to "normal," face-to-face training is once again not possible. We set our Development Squad a challenge to show us what they are getting up to, until we can train together once more. This is the winner of our competition, who appears to be keeping very active. Well done Henry!

Events may be cancelled and venues closed but that does not mean an end to training. The coaches have had to adapt and the training sessions tailored around staying at home. Through the use of video call software we have maintained a training programme throughout lockdown. We have now done over 80 virtual training sessions since the start of lockdown using Zoom, Zwift or a combination of both. The sessions have included S&C and HIIT workouts as well as turbo and brick sessions. The largest session had 29 people doing...
