What a successful weekend! The results once again showed a marked improvement over the last three years' results. Out of 26 individual swims in the long distances (400IM, 400m Free, 800m Free and 1,500m Free), 23 were Personal Best Times. This is a fantastic achievement and shows how hard the swimmers have been working. Swim England has seen 2019 as its year of celebration for 150yrs of service - with Masters very much at the heart of its mantra 'Sport for Life'. Ponds Forge welcomed Britain's best veterans once again for the annual Short Course Championships....with an abundance of talent suited for its sesquicentenary (yes, I did have to Google that word!) Southampon Masters lined up with both familiar and fresh faces - standing firm against what had to be the strongest lower-age contingent that had ever descended upon the City of Steel. World...

The South East Regional Short Course Masters was almost a non-starter for 2019. Calendar clashes with various local events and domestic club championships stretched officials across all counties, but thanks largely to some fine efforts from outgoing Swim England South East Masters Co-ordinator Geoff Stokes, enough volunteers (including competitors themselves) stepped up to grab a stopwatch and keep this important event in the discipline's diary running for another year! As far as Southampton Masters was concerned however, it was a bit of a contrasting tale. With the event opening so...

Looking forward to welcoming swimmers to our James Moreno Level 2 meet on Sunday 29th September. Superb medals have just arrived.

Excellent first weekend and third place so far achieved by our younger swimmers. Over half of the swims so far have been PBs, over 10 medals including in the 11/12 relay. More to come hopefully on Saturday 6th June.

The annual Masters pilgrimage to one of the three Nations of Great Britain saw City of Swansea host this year's National Masters Long Course Championships - with the Welsh Performance Centre the venue. Fresh in the minds of several competitors was the drawn out days of 2014 when Swim Wales last entertained this growing division of swimming....an 8 lane pool severely over-subscribed and resulting in races stretching into the late hours of the evening! A remedy was certainly required this time around. That remedy did come at a cost. A new...

Fareham Nomads Masters have certainly been making an impact over the past few years – taking British, European and World Records, swelling in membership and hunting the traditional two-horse Top Club race between Southampton and Basingstoke down fast at Hampshire Masters Championships. 27thApril saw the peripheral suburb host its second Masters Meet at Waterlooville Leisure Centre. Last year The Quays played host, and drew attention from across the South East and London…and whilst the change to a somewhat isolated venue, together close proximity to Easter, did impact overall attendance, quality...
