While our season has been beginning over the last ten days, resident pentathlete Kay Bryson has been finishing her last season with a trip to the Senior Pentathlon World Championships in Bath. Kay underwent a week of competing in qualifying rounds, then the semi-finals and eventually the final. She went into the laser run in 6th, before climbing to 3rd to claim the bronze medal - which is her first medal in the senior championships. She followed home an Italian 1 2, with the Italian world champion retaining her title...

Two of our twelve year olds, Laila Cater and Amelie Burton have been selected by the Devon County ASA for the 2023/2024 Swim England Talent Development Pathway, and will take part in the Devon County camps in the next twelve months. Both girls have had excellent seasons, Laila has been competing a little longer and was a regular finalist and medalist in the Devon County Championships earlier in the year, while Amelie skipped straight to Regional competition, and has been improving hand over fist ever since. The camps will give...

Over the weekend Dinnaton swimmers competed in the Plymouth Leander Summer Long Course gala at the Pymouth Life Centre. Following the gala, we also enjoyed a trip to the fantastic Plymouth Hoe, for a cool off in the...

Over the last few weeks we have been competing in the Devon Developments and the Devon Sprint gala, with our swimmers also debuting our new Team Kit from Buzz Physique. We have had a great gala, with a lot of medals and PB's being achieved as well as a lot of fun and smiles too! The Sprint gala saw medals from Greg, Alice and Bethan, while the Developments needs a longer breakdown: Grace 100 back - Gold 100 IM - Silver 100 free - Bronze Abi 200 brs - Silver...

Sometimes, it isn't just about the training and the galas, but also about being able to have some fun as a team. We enjoyed our club social to Adrenaline quarry, and look forward to visiting again in the future!

We had a great day at the Paignton Swimming Club Sprint Gala Hana Wood was undoubtedly the star of the day with a second placed finish in the medley skins, and medals and PB's in the rest of her events. Medals were also won by Lottie, Darcy, Imogen, Ollie and Edna, with junior swimmers getting their first race experiences or continuing their learning. Huge thank you to Atiyana for being a fantastic team manager today, and well done everyone in your efforts!

Our resident pentahlete, Karenza Bryson, has been in Bulgaria over the last week, winning the Senior World Cup for Great Britain! She had to compete first in qualifications, semi finals and then in the eventual final, entering the laser run in 4th before running up to gold. If that wasn’t enough, she then teamed up with GB team mate Charlie Brown to win the mixed relay gold as well. She returns to the club a Double World Cup Champion! Congratulations Kay! https://www.pentathlongb.org/news/1195 https://www.pentathlongb.org/news/1196

Laila Cater has been bringing the curtain down on the 2023 regionals for us this weekend, it’s been a tough gala for her, all her sessions she’s been the sole swimmer representing us and she’s had to go through the process of a new level and all the associated nerves by herself. But today, she’s come good, finishing with a new PB in the 200m freestyle, and winning a few rounds of cards too. Some good learning and experience to build on for the future

Ruby Gove led the highlight reel for Dinnaton in the Swim England South West Youth Championships, securing her first regional final in the Girls 15 Years 50m Freestyle. This was doubly impressive for Ruby, as she hadn't managed to make this final in the Devon Championship event earlier in the year, so to do so against the rest of the region marks a big success. Ruby also competed in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay, alongside team mates Alice Mansfield, Lillie Morris and Frida Gallego Cooper, marking the first time...

The Swim England South West Regional Swimming Championships begun at Millfield Senior School this weekend with great performances from Darcy, Edna and Amelie who made their regional debuts in the 11-12 year 50m Breastroke. Amelie, didn't compete in the county version of the event, which marks a big step up from her previous competition experience. Darcy and Edna, memorably raced in formation to gold for Darcy and fourth for Edna in the same event. For Darcy and Edna however, they are competing as 11 year olds against 12 year olds,...
