Young Swimmers Start Our Season at Network Gala

Nathaniel Rookes

An enjoyable and positive start to our competitive season last weekend at the annual Junior Network Gala at Plymouth Life Centre. A relaxed gala that gives an opportunity for our less experienced swimmers to get into competitions as well as the more practiced swimmers to get their seasons going. Some fantastic performances at this early stage saw us finish a respectable 4th position out of 9 teams, with a great supportive atmosphere and plenty of lessons learnt.

Many of these swimmers are now part of our Junior & Development competitive programmes having come through our Learn to Swim programme. This shows that there is a clear and effective pathway for these young swimmers from when they first learn to swim to their first dives into a competition, a true reflection of the dedication and hard work from these young people and the teachers and volunteers in our Learn to Swim programme!
