Dinnaton Claim 5th in Interclub Team Gala

Iain Chalmers

Another successful day as a team today at the Devon Interclub Championship, where 11 clubs across the county battled it out in the pool for points in a full sprint event programme, an event Dinnaton haven't entered for a few years.

I'm very proud to confirm that the club finished a very respectful 5th position with a decent points margin above those below. This is a very good achievement when considering we are up against clubs with squads as large as our entire club size.

Whilst some individual performances were mixed, the whole team bonded together very successfully to push each other on to battle for every single point they could showing the fantastic spirit between our members at the moment.

Whilst not a day for individuals, special mention needs to go to Ella Moss, who claimed our only event win of the day in the 50fc, improving her own club record in process, to Madison Oman (14), who was asked to step into the open (16+) age group and gained a Regional Consideration Time in doing so and also to Hannah Bennett and a number of our senior swimmers who assisted in the smooth, whilst occasionally busy, organisation on poolside. The club needs a team to run the way it does and this team across the club will battle for each other on a regular basis, which is brilliant to see!

Our team in full:

Ella Moss, Taylor Pyper, Maddy Jones, Elliot Ayers, Millie Tout, Johnny Guerrier, Jas D'Cunha, Nathaniel Rookes, Jasmine Bennett, Chris Thomas, Sophia King, Lloyd Stone, Abi Bell, Matthew Bannister, Gemma Bennett, James Bannister, Tia Crews, Thomas Jones, Madison Oman, Ella D'Cunha, Tom Mckenny, Rosie Cuming & Haydn Stone.
