The City of Leicester SC is the highly successful Performance Pathway for Leicestershire Swimming since 1978. With approximately 100 members the club boasts swimmers competing at and working towards County, Regional, National and Junior International Level. City of Leicester SC have a strong history of producing National champions/medallists, swimmers being selected for British Swimming Junior Teams and placing swimmers and coaches on all levels of the home nations talent pathways. We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Head Age Group Coach, with experience of working with age group swimmers at a Regional and National level. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, an excellent communicator and a team player, who will proactively contribute to the sustainable development of our club.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Coaching:
Be the lead coach for the age group swimming sessions working closely with other members of the coaching team to provide the best coaching provision at all times.
Provide excellence in coaching through recognised best practice, in line with the British Swimming OADF, that will improve performance outcomes for swimmers at all levels.
Contribute to the coaching provision at competitions across multiple venues throughout the season.
Contribute to any swim camps or clinics as provided by the club, on an ad hoc basis.
Support the Head Coach in the identification of talented swimmers from base clubs, county championship and mini-meet competitions.
Support the Head Coach and other members of the team as and when required with delivering coaching sessions for other squads, during holidays and sickness etc.
Coach always to be best of your ability.
Planning and Goal Setting:
Put in place individual and squad based coaching plans to ensure the delivery of agreed performance goals.
Plan and evaluate swimming programmes for individual swimmers including regular review meetings with each swimmer to establish and discuss their individual process and outcome goals, and progress made towards these.
Attend coach meetings to discuss the club’s progress and new ideas for the future and, as required, Club Committee meetings.
Fully support swimmers selected to pathway competitions and/or camps by preparing any relevant documentation required.
Execute club administration duties as required and directed by the Head Coach.
Accountability and Leadership:
Be an ambassador for City of Leicester SC within swimming and positively promote the Leicestershire Performance Pathway.
Promote team spirit and the City of Leicester programme values: accountability, a strong work ethic and respect.
Support the delivery of philosophy and desired performance behaviours, as directed by the Head Coach.
Assist with club processes to include training, competitions, CoL open meet organisation, meet entries and attendance records.
Maintain suitable records of all sessions delivered.
Execute club administration duties as required and in a timely manner.
Update the Head Coach, with matters of importance regarding swimmers and parents.
Attend relevant training and CPD as required.
Support all of the safeguarding and welfare protocols established for the club, the swimmers and the staff – paid and volunteers – on a daily basis
Qualifications:
Level 2 coaching or equivalent.
Personal Qualities:
Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to inspire, motivate, develop and mentor young age group swimmers.
Able to work independently alongside being a strong team player.
