How Leicester Sharks was formed
Leicester Sharks Competitive Swimming Club was founded in August 2011, when Enderby Swimming Club (ESC) and Lutterworth & District Swimming Club (LDSC) joined forces to better serve the surrounding communities.
Prior to the merger, ESC and LDSC were successful clubs in their own right, offering a high standard of coaching, and producing talented swimmers.
As the two clubs attracted swimmers from the same region, it was a logical decision to amalgamate ESC and LDSC, and so Leicester Sharks Competitive Swimming Club was born.
Creating History
Since the formation of Leicester Sharks CSC, the club has developed swimmers to achieve great results at county, regional and national level.
The club has also started to make a name for itself in local and national league galas. Our gala results have improved every season since our inception, becoming the development programme we are today. After the junior league semi-finals in 2015 and 2016, we made the grand final in 2017 and 2018, reinforcing our strength in development swimming. In 2019, we saw our most ever medals at County, Regional and National level. We also had an athlete achieve selection for various British swimming teams, including the World Junior Championships in Kazan, where they achieved a world bronze medal in the 400 I.M, coached within the club programme.
2022 - Final for the National Arena League , Nuneaton and District Diddy League Final, British Summer Championships - 12 swimmers coming away with 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze and 10 Finals, English Nationals - 10 Swimmers coming away with 2 Golds, 2 Silvers and 5 Top 10 Finishes.
With a winning combination of dedicated coaches, motivated swimmers and an active experienced committee, the club hopes to maintain swimming excellence in the region for years to come.
