Learn to Swim restructure begins

With the end of the academic year approaching, many of our fantastic assistants on our Learn to Swim programme will be moving on to pastures new. We would like to use this opportunity to restructure our coaches to ensure we have our best and most qualified coaching staff working with the learn to swim athletes to ensure that they gain the best opportunities to progress quickly after a sustained period out of the water.

This will lead to a few members changing their swimming times, and a few members successfully transitioning up into the next group, and all of this information is attached to this email.

Each session will now include only one stage of ability in the smaller 10m pool, and one stage of ability in the 2 lane 25m pool. Each stage will be directly led by one of our Level 2 qualified, experienced coaches with qualified and volunteer assistant coaches.

From July 11th, our Angel Sharks will be led by ex-Performance swimmer, Chloe Taylor, between now and when she returns to University in September. Chloe has been working across a number of squads within the club for almost 5 years and has recently completed her Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification. From 17:30 – 19:00, our vastly experienced and enthusiastic Lead Learn to Swim Coach, Darwin Davies, will re-take the lead of our Pre-Pups. Each of our experienced Level 2 coaches will be ably assisted by familiar faces who have been working with your children over the last couple of years.

I am certain that you will join us in thanking our departing coaches, Coach Hollie, Coach Nicole, Coach Abbie, Coach Thibaut and Coach Sarah. They have played a vital role in supporting your children and ensuring they develop a life-long love of the sport and we now cannot wait to see the progress each of your children make under our highly enthusiastic and experienced coaches in the coming weeks and months. We look forward to seeing each of them accelerate in their development and progress through the programme to a point where they will be able to join our Pups squad and fully immerse themselves in our Sharks Family in the near future.
