County Championships Day 2

Tim Millett

A good start to a tough weekend of swimming, saw 2 finalists and one medals winner, along with a handful of regional times.

The third session of Suffolk County Championships saw us head back to Crown Pools, Ipswich. A packed out session saw a mix of results in a tough afternoon of swimming.

A lengthy gap between warm up and the start of racing could be to blame for a slow start for our Beccles swimmers, but as the session went on their fight in the pool picked up.

Kicked off by a great 50 fly swim by Jack Bidle in his first ever County Championships, this was followed by a run of exciting fly swims for the boys, as Tealk Smith and Sam Day picked up final places, Sam also getting his regional time.

Followed wad the girls 50 free and great swims from Izy Aukland, Grace Mann, Jess Day, Lucy Adcock and Emily Waller.

Sam Parker picked up a top 8 finish and pb in his 200 Breaststroke swim followed by a stunning swim from Matthew Vaughan who not only picked up a regional time, but also a third place in his 200 Breaststroke.

In the finals Tealk went on to compete well in his 100 free and both him and Sam Day finished the day off in their tight 50 fly final.
