Big congratulations to all our team members representing COPS at the first round of the Junior Fenland League at Whittlesey and Mildenhall. The A team came away with the win in their gala, whilst the B team had some excellent performances to finish 4th in their gala. Coaches Katherine, Matt and Jess were extremely pleased with the quality of skills on display and team support shown for teammates. This looks like a promising start to the series team! Well done!

The weekend saw 10 COPS team members compete in the National Winter Championships, which are the short course national championships. Qualifiers; Harriet Salisbury, Dani Gough, Fabian Brudnicki, George Whiteman, Hannah Willis, Jess Shaw, Josh Martin, Josh Sackree, Vanesa Cimermanova and Iona Trainer all represented COPS at the highest senior stage. The first ever COPS Virtual Race Day was hosted online on Monday. This was a slight twist on the normal competition of racing; rather than aiming to beat their personal bests, on this occasion the swimmers were aiming to match them. 68 excited COPS members entered the Sprintastic event, and although they were all at home in their living rooms, many donned their normal race gear to get in to the spirit of the event. COPS Return to the TOP 10 Nationally Ranked Clubs This weekend City of Peterborough Swimming Club finished a respectable 9th place in the National 'A' Final of swimming's version of the F.A. Cup. After winning every round in the National Arena East Midlands league in 2019, COPS represented the area admirably in the national final at the Cardiff International Pool. The first Friday after Christmas saw swimmers from several Cambridgeshire clubs meet at Oundle School Swimming Pool to join together for a fantastic camp. The day saw the young swimmers participate in two pool sessions, one focused on building a strong base to the stroke with an effective kick, and the second session working towards increasing stroke efficiency.
