BRITISH SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS/WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TRIALS 2019 REPORT Possibly the toughest of 7 days for the team and I had to endure in a long time, but still lots to come away with and plenty to move forward with and be proud of.  2 of the 8 COPS A Squad members competing, Eve Wright and Herbie Kinder, had a fantastic meet, with PB’s galore, which culminated in Eve making her first British Championships final, finishing 4th in the Junior Final.  There were huge positives to be found. Tom Wiggins 50m Br...

Congratulations to Jamie Scholes on achieving his first Great Britain cap representing British Swimming in the LEN European Junior Open Water Championships in Malta. Jamie raced in the 10km marathon race and finished 21st, 2nd Brit in only his 2nd 10km race. This is an excellent result consider Jamie's inexperience, and has given him an excellent education in world class open water racing to stand him in good sted for the future. Jamie only turned his talents to open water this time last year and made an immediate impact winning national...

There were impressive performances in and out of the pool for City of Peterborough Swimming Club (COPS) at the weekend. In the pool, the club dominated the annual Cambs Cup competition in Cambridge, while in a reservoir somewhere near Ipswich, Harry Whiteman was storming to victory in the Great East Swim. Whiteman (16) took the honours in the ‘5k mens elite category’ at Alton Water in a time of one hour, two minutes and 17 seconds. He finished a minute clear of his nearest rival and seven minutes ahead of...

City of Peterborough Swimming Club (COPS) just failed to hang on to top spot in the ASA East Region Championships after the second weekend of competition in Norwich. They dominated the first weekend in Luton, finishing on top of the medals table with 30 golds - five more than Hatfield. But although winning 10 more medals when the championships resumed in Norwich, none were of the golden variety and the club ended up having to settle for second place overall, just three gold medals behind Hatfield. Brenna Howell and Connor...

Dear A & Youth Squad Members   Stanground have changed their practice to extend their learn to swim time for their own academy programme. This has had a direct impact on COPS training time and practise. At the same time, Youth squad attendance at Whittlesey has been poor and I have heard numerous reasons why that session hasn't been suitable for the squad.   With the impending demand of change of pool time from Stanground being fairly immediate, we have taken the steps to change the squad training practice on Tuesday...
