Congratulations to Amelia on her first SENIOR NATIONAL MEDAL!!!

The weekend saw 10 COPS team members compete in the National Winter Championships, which are the short course national championships. Qualifiers; Harriet Salisbury, Dani Gough, Fabian Brudnicki, George Whiteman, Hannah Willis, Jess Shaw, Josh Martin, Josh Sackree, Vanesa Cimermanova and Iona Trainer all represented COPS at the highest senior stage. They were joined by COPS Alumni Matt Gray (City of Leeds/Leeds Trinity University), Beth Dennis (City of Sheffield/Sheffield Hallam) and Amelia Monaghan (City of Sheffield/Sheffield Hallam).

Hannah Willis was the rising star of the meet, making her first national finals, finishing 9th in the Junior 50m Bk final and 6th in the Junior 100m BK final. Whilst Amelia Monaghan broke a club record to swim 4.42 400m IM and win her first Senior medal in the Senior 400m IM to join a great group of COPS swimmers to make senior podiums at the nations highest level meet.
