Club statement - Coach Rebecca Barsby

Coach.Ben Negus

It is with sadness that we have to inform you that Rebecca Barsby will be leaving us as Performance Pathway Coach after the end of this season. Rebecca will leave us after the last week of training in August 2019, for pastures new in the hotel trade.

Rebecca joined COPS in August 2017, fresh from her role working as a coach at Nova Centurion and had an immediate impact with our swimming developing stroke skills and growing the swim squads. In her 2 years she’s overseen the Development and Age-group sectors of the programme and in recent changes took charge of the Performance Pathway Coach role which is most vital to the club.

The club would like to thank Rebecca for her dedication, her hours of work on deck and her energy for working with our team. Rebecca has been so supportive; she’s even donned the blue and gold hat to fulfil the open relays in the National Arena Swimming League! She came as a Nottinghamshire girl and leaves a COPS Coach, well and truly.

The club wishes to ask you to join us in thanking Rebecca for all her efforts and time spent with your children or you. We hope she will enjoy her last 2.5 months in post.

The club will now undergo an interview process to find the new candidate for this exciting role. We are very proud of the coaching restructure roles and think that this will attract some high calibre candidates. Advert will be out for 3 weeks, interviews will follow, with an appointment hopefully achieved in 5 weeks, allowing 3 weeks for the new member of the coaching team to come down and introduce themselves to the squads and members in that period.
