Head Coach, Ben Negus, commented "This is a great starter meet for our programme in the 2019-2020 season. We had a couple of goals to deliver on here. Missing 5 of our medalling team from last year, due to them going off to University, we had to rely on our development of the young up and coming talent and they impressed. We had two tasks at had, perform our process goals that had been set up for us from our training cycle, and increase the new faces in finals and podium places, of which we did so very successfully for 9 weeks in to the new season".

"This time last year, someone like Harriet Salisbury, who has been through our Mini, Development and Age-group squads, finished in a highest spot of of 5th and 7th in the 800m & 400m Fr events. This year she is Senior Champion of both events and showing much greater distance per stroke in her swimming and improved u/w transition skills. She is just one example of some great progressions, and skill focus paying off in the first 8 weeks of the year".

"I'm proud of our statements in and out of the pool this year already. We have come away from the meet with so much to take away and grow again, and I believe this group want that this year. I'm looking forward to our COPS Meet and Winter Nationals to see how we progress as a club from this first cycle".
