Welcome to the Berkhamsted Swimming Club

The Club takes swimmers from age 8 upwards, we also have a Masters Team as well as athletes who compete in other sports and see the benefits that swimming has on their sport.

This is a friendly and supportive swimming club and our aim is not only to develop swimmers to be competent swimmers but also introduce them to friendly internal competitions and ideally external ones too. We also look to develop swimmers beyond just swimming skills and fitness, but also life skills by providing other activities that they can engage in by supporting the Club and their teammates.

We take swimmers at all levels, either for enjoyment, competitive or just fitness, we recommend that swimmers need to be confident swimming in deep water and across all strokes. Ideally we are looking for swimmers who can comfortably swim a 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 25m Breaststroke, 25m Butterfly and be able to complete four 25m lengths in any stroke without stopping.

Upon completing this initial Registering Interest form, our head coach will make contact and agree a trial session at one of our pools on a Saturday morning (usually the first Saturday of each month, excluding August).

Based upon this 30 minute assessment, the head coach will advised you of the level your swimmer is at and what swimming group they would be invited to join.

Do not worry if initially they do not achieve the right level initially, working with Sportspace and Knox Johnston, we have a Swimming Academy where any areas of improvement can be worked on ready to join the Club once the required level is attained.

The fields with an ​* are mandatory fields. The medical information/notes should include details of conditions such as asthma, diabetes, epilepsy for example. Please note that you will not be charged for the Trial, but upon joining the Club, there is a joining fee and annual group fee which we charge on a monthly or annual basis, whichever suits you.
