Laurence Mills - Head Coach 

Laurence Mills is the Modernian SC Head Coach and has a wealth of experience working with Age Group & Youth athletes over the last 10 years. Before Joining Modernian SC, Laurence worked in Canada where he was the Assistant Head Coach at Markham Aquatic Club, a leading performance programme with over 300 Competitive Members just North of Toronto, Ontario. Laurence has also Worked in Age group coaching Roles at the City of Leicester & Bolton Metro where he had numerous successes at county, Regional and National Level.  In the four seasons working in the UK he coached 28 national qualifiers to 54 national finals and 11 national medals.

Laurence is no stranger to the pool having swam with Scarborough and Kingston upon Hull swimming club, competing at national championships for 8 consecutive years.

Paulina Kret - Assistant Coach 

Paulina is originally from Poland where she earned her Masters degree in Sport at the Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Gdansk. Immediately after her graduation, she became a PE teacher and swimming coach. For four years she was the Age group coach at Zabianka Swimming Club in Poland where her group achieved huge successes at County and Regional level. In 2017, Paulina began teaching lessons and coaching with Modernian Swimming Club.

Paulina was a competitive swimmer until she was 21. Her biggest successes were winning the National Championship 4 years in a row in the 100m backstroke and competing for the Polish National Team at the European Junior Championsips in Lisbon, Portugal.

Throughout the years of education, competitive swimming and coaching she is trying to transmit her passion for sports to youth athletes.
