Exeter Ladies win National League Division 2! (phase 1)

What a great achievement from our senior ladies team. In only their second year in national league and promotion last year they have won division 2 in phase 1 going undefeated.
Match Reports from Coach Powell...
Exeter v Bristol:
After a nervy first-half ending 7-5 vs a physical Bristol side who defended well our fitness and numerical advantage showed through and we dominated the second half. Hazel Cutler saved 2 penalties in the game, Jasmine Coleman and Jess Garrad popped up with a collective 11 goals in the 15-8 victory.

Exeter v Mid Sussex Marlins
A very organised Mid Sussex Marlins side raced out to an early first-quarter lead before a change of defensive tactics and some excellent pit defence from both Nyah Tomlinson and Raewyn Newmarch stemmed the tide in the second quarter.
We scored a flurry of goals in the third and withstood a late fightback by a determined Marlins side in what was probably our best team performance of the season, finishing 14-12 winners.

Exeter v Welsh Wanderers
Exeter ran out 20-2 victors vs a Welsh Wanderers side unfortunately depleted due to a fixture clash. A dominant display at both ends of the pool and excellent scoring performances from Amy Potter (5) and Jasmine Coleman (6) made the final game of our phase 1 campaign comfortable.

Overall an excellent weekend with some of the teams key players missing they rallied together so well and showed the strength and depth we have within our squad. The whole squad are really happy to have won phase 1 and are looking forward to pushing on in phase 2.
