Our U16 lads represent SW at Inters

Exeter Water Polo

A shout out to some of our U16 Boys who train at Exeter/Barnstaple and who were selected to represent the South West in the Inter-regional competition a couple of weeks ago at Millfield School in Somerset.

A huge well done to Stan, AJ, Toby and Sam!

Our South West team played so well, remaining the only undefeated side in the tournament aside from the eventual winners - Ireland.

Some hugely competitive and exciting matches on Day 1 left the southwest only one goal short of coming top of the group.

On Day 2, the adrenaline-fuelled fun continued with the boys gaining an impressive win followed by a nail-biting match against the U16 Scottish National team, which ended 11-all.

After penalties, with several misses and saves on both sides, the SW team prevailed!

All our lads played hard, with Sam scoring some scorching goals (let's not mention the unfortunate back pass which our goalie missed but which Sam soon made up for! 😉) and Toby struggling through illness. Stan was a credit to the squad throughout, as one of our Exeter players who attends the National Academy, and AJ gave his best all weekend ending up with the SW's MVP (Most Valuable Player) trophy and one of the highest goal tallies of the whole tournament.

Super proud of you all. Congratulations!
